our Carbon Fiber Series.
Starting out with the 5'10" BLACK RAT, followed by the
9'0" BLACKBIRD (now called the HABU). These boards are
Carbon Fiber/Polyester construction. The BLACK RAT weighing
all of 6 lbs. They are not the lightest boards in the market, but they do have
a very good weight-to-strength ratio. The 9'0" BLACK BIRD (now called
the Habu) was Pete's personal ride for the 2007 Hurricane Season,
such as it was. It rode well in surf ranging 2 ft to 12 ft. (Tropical Storm
Noel) in places like Cape Hatteras, NC and the1st Street Jetty VB. These boards
are not indestructable (see our ding repair page)
but are very easy to repair, unlike epoxy pop-outs. They never turn yellow
or brown, repairs always match.
We believe them to be the best value for your money. Add one to your quiver

A lot of shops are offering the "Flavor-Of-The-Month" (first its molded,
sandwiched, pop-out epoxy, next it's vented, hand-laid epoxy - You know
- the kind with the little holes down the rail. The next month its
something else. Basically all of these methods employ inferior materials
to the customer, and more money in the pockets of the "big boys" of the
surf industry.)
